Panamanian exports highlighted

Panama City, Dec. 30 (Prensa Latina) Panamanian exports could reach $1.343 billion this year, representing a growth of up to 3.8 percent. According to a report from the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MICI), this figure represents a growth of up to 3.8 percent, while international exports may exceed $1.503 billion by 2026.

The head of MICI, Julio Molto, said that, in addition to continuing to promote traditional products, the government is working on diversifying sales, with a greater emphasis on the services sector, as part of the strategy to broaden the export base and strengthen the country’s competitiveness.

The official specified that through last October, accumulated exports reached $835 million, representing a 3.1 percent increase, equivalent to an additional $24.8 million, compared to the same period in 2024.

For Molto, this is a record figure, the highest accumulated value between 2010 and 2025.

Among the leading export products are shrimp, bananas, watermelon, and sugar, sectors that continue to be pillars of Panamanian foreign trade.
