Solidarity with Cuba in Panama celebrates ICAP’s 65th anniversary

Panama City, Dec 31 (Prensa Latina) The National Coordinating Committee for Solidarity with Cuba in Panama celebrated the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP), founded at the initiative of the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, it was reported.

In a statement, the group emphasized that ICAP shows to the world respect, love, brotherhood, and loyalty, values ​​that characterize its staff, who proudly and with dignity represent Cuba.

The statement also calls on the United States government to end the blockade imposed for more than 60 years and reiterates its commitment to “continue defending Cuba’s socialist, humanitarian, and ethical Revolution to achieve the well-being and individual and collective prosperity of its people.”

Established by Law 901 of December 30, 1960, ICAP is an independent institution that promotes people’s diplomacy and solidarity through friendship associations worldwide.

Among its functions is fostering actions and contacts with friends of Cuba, with the organization of volunteer work brigades that regularly travel to the island playing a key role.
