Before images of the fallen and with the Cuban flag at half-mast, embassy staff, social movements, the Operation and Mission Miracle SV Solidarity Network, the Salvadoran Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, and members of the Popular Resistance and Rebellion Bloc honored the heroic combatants.
During speeches recognizing the bravery of the fallen, Ambassador Tomas Lorenzo and representatives of the organizations highlighted the courage of the 32 heroes who died on January 3, when they gave their lives in the line of duty, confronting imperialist aggression and the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro.
The event summarized the protests that solidarity and civil society organizations have been carrying out for several days in El Salvador, condemning the aggression and kidnapping of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
Analysts indicated that with this action, Washington is targeting Venezuelan oil and has no other objective than to subject that country to the control of President Donald Trump’s administration.
