The Hindu newspaper reported on Friday that India’s Ministry of Information Technology ordered Elon Musk’s platform to remove all vulgar, obscene, and illegal content, especially that of Grok, its integrated AI interface, or would face legal action.
It also requested the US-based social media company submit a detailed report on the measures taken within 72 hours, that is, before January 5.
X’s Security account stated on Sunday that it would take actions against illegal content on its platform, including child sexual abuse material, by removing it, permanently suspending accounts, and cooperating with local governments and the police if necessary.
The Ministry of Information Technology confirmed on its January 2 release that Grok’s AI, developed by X and integrated into the platform, was being misused to host, generate, publish, or share obscene images or videos of women in a derogatory or vulgar manner.
