Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff decided on Monday to remain in Paris to continue negotiations with a view to a ceasefire that still does not appear imminent.
Discussions included the peace plan promoted by US President Donald Trump, who is pressuring Zelensky to accept it.
European powers are trying to change this initiative, considering it too biased toward Russia, particularly regarding territorial concessions for Kiev.
The Coalition of the Willing, a bloc set up to support Ukraine, met in this capital on Monday, in which Trump’s envoys, Witkoff and Jared Kushner, participated on-site for the first time.
The Coalition of 35 members, led by France and the United Kingdom, agreed on the Paris Declaration, which includes the deployment of thousands of foreign troops to Ukraine once a cessation of hostilities is achieved.
