During the closing ceremony of this 4th session of the Legislative, lawmakers also voted on the Law on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress and the Law on National Development Planning.
Participants endorsed the resolutions on the work reports of the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate.
The economic and social development plans and the central budget for 2026 were also approved.
Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), affirmed that the formulation and implementation of five-year plans are a political advantage of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics.
Zhao noted that the 15th Five-Year Plan period is critical for advancing socialist modernization and consolidating the foundations of national development.
Zhao emphasized the need to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the resolutions of its plenary sessions.
