Israeli authorities are reconfiguring control over land in the West Bank through these orders, warned Amir Daoud, Director General of Documentation and Publication of Violations at the Commission Against the Wall and Settlements.
The text emphasized that such measures, formally presented as temporary actions based on the concept of military necessity, have become a systematic structural policy used to create permanent realities on the ground.
Instead of remaining linked to immediate and specific security needs, they are now being used for the execution of long-term projects, such as road construction and the establishment of buffer zones around Jewish settlements, he stressed.
According to data released by the study, the rate of issuance of such orders has increased significantly in recent years, rising from 32 in 2023 to 94 last year.
Since the beginning of the current cycle of violence in October 2023, Israel has issued 173 such orders, authorizing the expropriation of several square kilometers of Palestinian land for road safety projects, buffer zones, military sites, and barbed wire fences.
