Maduro commemorates Chavez’s graduation from the Military Academy

Caracas, July 7 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro commemorated the half-century since Commander Hugo Chavez (1954-2013) graduated from the Military Academy.

On his Telegram account, the president commemorated the momentous date of the 50th anniversary of the Bolivarian leader’s graduation from the high school: “Our Giant, the man who changed the history of our America, and one of the greatest world leaders.”

The president remembered that it was half a century ago, “in the sacred courtyard of our military forces, when the young man from Sabaneta de Barinas, his chest swelling with happiness and pride, rose to second lieutenant, finding his life’s mission by donning the glorious uniform of our Army.”

He noted that the man who was graduating was going to be “the leader of the new era, of the new independence, the one who opened the doors of our homeland to the 21st century.”

Maduro affirmed that July 7th is not a mere memory; “it is a ratification of the immortality of his legacy,” he added.

I tell the military youth of our Bolivarian National Armed Forces that “the principles and values of that young man who graduated from the House of Blue Dreams live within you.”

The president called on them to focus their attention on him, on his example, on his history, on his leadership, so that the steps they take going forward “will be transcendent for their own history as officers, but, above all, for the history of our homeland,” he emphasized.

May the legacy of Commander Chavez continue to be our eternal guide!” he emphasized.
