According to the Indian head of government himself, the conversation with Putin, whom he called a friend, was pleasant and detailed.
“I thanked him for sharing the latest developments on Ukraine,” Modi stressed on his social networks.
The two leaders also reviewed the progress of the agenda between the two nations and reaffirmed their commitment to deepen the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia.
“I look forward to hosting President Putin in India later this year,” the Indian prime minister emphasized.
India and Russia have treasured relations of friendship and mutual respect for over 75 years and in the last five years those close ties evolved from progress to strategic partnership.
In a bid to attack those ties, U.S. President Donald Trump recently imposed double tariffs on India for its imports of Russian oil.
