The declaration was signed by David Collado, Dominican Minister of Tourism, and Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports of Argentina, in a ceremony held at the Intercontinental Hotel, in this capital.
The alliance seeks the coordination of joint tourism promotion programs and the exchange of experiences and good practices for the attraction of investments in the sector.
Minister Collado thanked his Argentine counterpart for his visit and highlighted the importance of the agreement to strengthen the ties between the two nations.
He pointed out that Argentina is currently the third largest tourist source country for the Dominican Republic.
The official said that this agreement reaffirms that tourism, as a strategic economic activity, drives the growth of nations and regional integration through increased connectivity and the generation of opportunities.
Minister Scioli, for his part, valued this step “because of the impact tourism has on our economies and on our cultural diversity,” he said.
