The military institution announced on its official Telegram channel that six unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over the Voronezh region, five over Belgorod, two over Bryansk, and the same number over Kursk, as well as one each over Lipetsk and Tambov.
Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced that large shopping centers in the Russian border region will remain closed due to the threat of drones launched from neighboring Ukraine.
On his X profile, Gladkov described as “difficult” the situation in the regional capital and the corresponding municipality due to “another massive drone attack.” Belgorod authorities ordered the suspension of in-person classes in educational centers, as well as the operation of large retail stores and outdoor cafes, and restaurants.
Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, to protect the population from “the Kiev government’s genocide” and counter national security risks, according to President Vladimir Putin.
