Pinol attended the Pan American Digestive Disease Week (SPED) where the organizers highlighted Cuba’s presence and experience in the specialty as a benchmark for the region.

Dr. Pinol, a second-level gastroenterology specialist who works at the National Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery in Havana, and is a full professor and researcher with a PhD in Science, commented that Lima meeting served as an exchange of experiences and an update on the topic.

Dr. Pinol, with extensive experience in gastroenterology, noted as significant that many of the distinguished physicians who presented works at the aforementioned meeting were trained in Cuba, including some of his direct students.

This caught the attention of the attending physicians, due to the excellent training of the specialists who presented their ideas at the meeting. These physicians who studied in Cuba trained at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) expressed their gratitude for their training on the island.

Cuba’s participation in international medical conferences is always significant, given the recognized strength of its healthcare system and medical school.
