Upon receiving Perez Mesa, Machakaire praised the excellent bilateral relations and discussed the possibilities of consolidating collaboration with the Cuban Young Communist League (UJC).
The Cuban diplomat outlined the programs of events that will take place in the Caribbean nation in October and December and provided an update on the impact of the US blockade imposed on the Caribbean country more than 60 years ago.
She explained the consequences of the hostile policy on youth, and recognized Zimbabwe’s traditional support against the US blockade, including the recent denunciation by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Amon Murwira, at the High-Level Segment of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Machakaire explained the work’s priorities for that sector, which encompasses approximately 5.4 million young people aged 15-35 years.
Machakaire and Perez Mesa acknowledged the importance of working with the new generations as a guarantee for the future of their respective countries.
