According to a statement released by the Syrian Ministry of the Interior through its official platforms, authorities from both countries managed to thwart seven smuggling attempts across the border, in which approximately one million narcotic pills intended for illegal trafficking and distribution were seized.
The statement highlighted that this joint action also led to the arrest of several individuals linked to organized crime organizations dedicated to drug trafficking, as well as the dismantling of the structures responsible.
Both sides emphasized that these achievements constitute a concrete example of effective bilateral cooperation, reflecting a shared commitment to addressing the security challenges arising from drug smuggling and trafficking.
The Syrian and Jordanian authorities also expressed their commitment to continuing their joint efforts and to intensifying efforts to prevent the border from being used for illicit purposes, in order to protect local communities and safeguard future generations from the dangers associated with these activities.
