Xi highlighted the deep historical ties between China and Oman, the strengthening of political trust, the results of mutually beneficial cooperation, and the enduring nature of their traditional friendship.

The Chinese president noted that developing bilateral relations is a shared strategic decision that aligns with both peoples’ aspirations.

Xi said Sultan Haitham’s visit, the first by an Omani head of State to China since diplomatic relations were established 48 years ago, will give fresh momentum to bilateral ties.

Sultan Haitham, in turn, expressed satisfaction with his visit to China and underscored the country’s contribution to global prosperity and stability.

The Sultan expressed Oman’s willingness to deepen bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, industry, infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), and science and technology, as well as to expand exchanges between the two nations.

Sultan Haitham’s visit takes place against the context of 48 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which are now seeking to broaden their economic ties and coordinate their positions on regional and international issues.
