Kast will begin his trip in Madrid, where he is set to meet with Santiago Abascal, leader of the far-right Vox party, with whom he shares political affinities.

He will also hold meetings with Isabel Diaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid, and King Felipe VI of Spain.

Afterward, he will travel to Rome to meet with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and be received later by Pope Leo XIV in an audience at the Vatican.

Upon his return to Madrid, he will attend the 30th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government.

Kast’s tour comes at a complex time for his government, following the crisis sparked by Justice Minister Fernando Rabat’s decision to release or offer prison benefits to 56 individuals responsible for rape and other crimes against children and adolescents.
