Granma newspaper reported that Perez-Oliva will continue serving as Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment.
The new deputy prime minister, 54, has a degree in Electronics Engineering and has held different posts, including General Director of the Maquimport company and Director of Business Assessment for the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM).
He also served as Deputy Minister and First Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX), from which position he was promoted to Minister.
