Nicaragua and Türkiye strengthen friendship and cooperation ties

Managua, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina) Nicaragua and Turkiye reportedly reaffirmed their willingness to continue strengthening their relations of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation during a meeting held in this capital between senior officials from both nations.

The foreign ministers of Nicaragua, Denis Moncada and Turkiye, Valdrack Jaentschke, as well as Presidential Advisor for Investment, Trade, and International Cooperation, Laureano Ortega, met on Monday at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry in Managua with Yaprak Balkan, Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

Both delegations addressed, during the meeting, issues of common interest on the bilateral agenda and reaffirmed their willingness to move toward closer collaboration in several areas.

Foreign Minister Moncada said, “This meeting reaffirms the strong bonds of friendship between Turkiye and Nicaragua, based on mutual respect and cooperation.

We want to express our joy and confidence that our relations will continue to grow for the benefit of both peoples.”

Minister Valdrack Jaentschke, in turn, conveyed the fraternal greetings of Co-Presidents Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and the Turkish people. “Our countries share a long tradition of friendship, which this year marked 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. We have built a special bond thanks to our commitment to peace, well-being, and development,” he noted.

The Nicaraguan diplomat also underscored Turkiye’s geostrategic role as a bridge between continents and cultures.
