Delegations will attend the presidential inauguration in Bolivia

La Paz, Nov. 6 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia is preparing to receive 52 foreign delegations today for the inauguration of President-elect Rodrigo Paz, Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa told reporters.

The winner of the runoff election held on October 19 will be sworn in this Saturday in La Paz, in the presence of four heads of state, three vice presidents, seven foreign ministers, and the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Albert Ramdin, among others, according to the Foreign Minister.

Sosa specified that the arrival of the presidents of Chile, Gabriel Boric; Argentina, Javier Milei; Ecuador, Daniel Noboa; and Paraguay, Santiago Peña, is confirmed, and they will be arriving starting Friday.

She also mentioned that the foreign minister of Japan, Takeshi Iwaya, will be among the foreign ministers arriving. The current Bolivian foreign minister announced that representatives from the European Union, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the United Nations, among others, will also be present at the inauguration ceremony.

She stated that, with this support, there will be “a very important high-level representation for the main events on November 8.”

She clarified that King Felipe VI of Spain, Paz’s classmate at American University, canceled his trip to Bolivia.

The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday morning at the new Plurinational Legislative Assembly (ALP) building in La Paz, where extensive renovations are underway, as is the case in the heart of the country’s political capital, Plaza Murillo, adjacent to the Executive branch headquarters and the ALP building.
