Speaking to the diplomatic corps in India and the press, Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State of Ayush, emphasized that the summit will advance the objectives of the WHO’s Global Strategy for Traditional Medicine 2025-2034, adopted last May at the 78th World Health Assembly, establishing a consensus on definitions, objectives, and guiding principles.
Under the theme “Restoring Balance: The Science and Practice of Health and Wellbeing,” the event will also promote dialogue, evidence, and action to strengthen the role of traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine in achieving universal health coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals, he indicated.
According to the minister, the event aims to deepen the scientific and political commitment to integrating evidence-based traditional medicine into health systems and will focus on the balance between the individual, society, and the environment through the convergence of science, innovation, indigenous knowledge, and digital health.
