The Director for Africa, the Middle East, and Regional Organizations at the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jorge Cardoso, told the press that to date, 42 heads of state and government have confirmed their attendance, and the delegations will begin arriving between Saturday and Sunday.
Some delegations are still expected to arrive on Monday, 42 from the African continent and 26 from the European bloc.
Cardoso, who is the spokesperson for the event, highlighted the high number of European delegations, 14 of which are participating at the level of heads of state and government.
In addition, the summit will be attended by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and representatives from some of the most important UN specialized agencies.
The presence of the president of the African Development Bank, Sidi Ould Tah, and representatives of regional organizations has also been confirmed.
