During the meeting, held at the San Carlos Palace, the seat of the diplomatic corps in Bogota, the parties discussed the need to promote development in areas such as infrastructure, science and technology, energy transition, and digital connectivity, in line with the priorities defined by both governments.
Villavicencio emphasized the strategic nature of the relationship with the Asian nation and highlighted cooperation on initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of communities, especially in historically disadvantaged areas.
She also stressed the importance of advancing projects with a sustainable focus and regional impact. Meanwhile, Ambassador Zhu Jingyang reiterated his country’s interest in deepening ties with Colombia and expanding opportunities for economic, cultural, and educational exchange to promote balanced and mutually beneficial development.
During the meeting, new joint projects in agriculture and rural development were reviewed, aimed at strengthening local productivity and technology transfer, as well as connectivity opportunities to facilitate the growth of bilateral trade.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the meeting reaffirmed both governments’ commitment to maintaining a fluid, constructive, and results-oriented dialogue.
