Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning stated that Venezuela is a sovereign State with full and permanent rights over its natural resources and economic activities, and described the US military action as an act of intimidation.
Mao Ning affirmed that Washington’s demands to prioritize the “America First” principle in the management of Venezuelan oil violate international law.
The spokesperson noted that those actions infringe upon the sovereignty of that nation and harm the legitimate rights of its people.
Beijing strongly condemned those actions and underscored that the legitimate rights and interests of China and other countries in Venezuela must be protected.
Mao Ning stressed that Beijing will continue to strengthen cooperation and mutual support with countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
