Tasnim agency reported that Ghalibaf made these remarks during a meeting in Tehran with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, who mediates between the two nations.
The parliamentary speaker asserted, “The United States could not earn Iran’s trust unless it fulfills seven conditions. Military threats and provocations will not influence our decisions.”
The Iranian leader noted that distrust of Washington’s failure to fulfill the commitments outlined in a memorandum of understanding has exacerbated differences between the two countries.
The seven conditions were presented to Washington during diplomatic efforts in late September, coinciding with Iran’s participation in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), with Qatar as a mediator.
However, US President Donald Trump announced that his country would not accept Tehran’s demands.
The demands include ending hostilities on all fronts, releasing frozen Iranian assets, lifting the US naval blockade, ending interference in Iran’s internal affairs, and halting strikes on its territory.
