Santiago de Cuba, Jan 25 (Prensa Latina) The Santiago Septet, a Cuban group that has won two Grammy awards, announced here that it will play in Europe between July and September, with which they will resume their remarkable international career.

Sources from the Septet indicated that, through the JLP Music Management Booking Agency, they will be present on stages in the Canary Islands, Madrid, the Basque Country, Galicia, Asturias and Malaga, in Spain, in addition to other countries such as France, the Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Finland, Belgium and Denmark.

After a certain pause in tours outside Cuba due to Covid-19, the Septet was part of the island’s delegation that participated in the 49th edition of the Cervantino Festival, in Guanajuato, Mexico, last October.

With four consecutive nominations to the Latin Grammy Awards and winning the award in 2015 with I don’t want to cry-Tribute to the Compadres, in collaboration with the Dominican artist José Alberto, El Canario, they maintain an unwavering attachment to authentic Cuban sonority.

Another milestone in the little more than 25 years of the group was the nomination in that same year and with that plaque to the coveted Anglo-Saxon version of those awards in the music industry.

In 2018, they obtained their second Grammy, with the work A mi qué-Tribute to the Cuban classics, in the same line of discovering treasures of the national staff and with the presence of El Canario and other prominent figures of world music.

Since 2020, the Santiago artists have been based at the Salón del Son, next to the emblematic Plaza de Marte and the Iris Jazz Club, where they radiate the magnetism of the native Cuban rhythms with renewed arrangements and creativity in interpretation.

Three Cubadisco awards and performances in more than 40 countries, with an enthusiastic reception from the public, also endorse the group’s creative curriculum.
