Damascus, Apr 29 (Prensa Latina) Syrians will participate in the upcoming presidential elections and will prove that no force can confiscate their decision, assured on Thursday the president of the Parliament of that country, Hammoudah Sabbag.

During over 10 years of unprecedented war, the people faced and overcame many challenges, and will win again in terms of fulfilling their constitutional right and duty in the general elections, Sabbag said during a session of the legislature.

He denounced that the forces of evil escalated their economic, psychological and media warfare prior to the elections but they did not and will not achieve what they could not obtain in the military field.

The army’s victories will be complemented with the achievements in the constitutional, legislative, economic, cultural and other fields, the head of the Legislative indicated.

He clarified that the constitutional right in times of peace and stability becomes a national duty of the first degree in times of confrontation and defense of the homeland.

In turn, the lawmakers urged citizens inside and outside the country to participate and vote widely in the elections.

The general elections will be held, according to analysts, amid military, economic and political pressures from the United States and its allies; however, the Syrian authorities ensure that they will do everything for this process’ success.
