President Joe Biden to visit Michigan for vaccination campaign

Washington, Jun 29 (Prensa Latina) President Joe Biden will visit Michigan next Saturday as part of government's plan to move on Covid-19 vaccination campaign, the White House reported.

Biden´s visit to Michigan, where he won in the 2020 elections, will take place a day before celebrations for American Independence Day, on July 4.

By that date, Biden´s administration expected to vaccinate at least 70% of the country’s adults. However, the government acknowledged this goal will not be able to meet since although vaccination is progressing, jabs rate has decreased in recent weeks. US Vice President Kamala Harris was expected to visit Detroit, Michigan on Monday to promote –among other things- the vaccination significance, but she delayed her trip without explaining her causes.

Official sources informed that Kamala Harris will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 3, while her husband, Doug Emhoff, and First Lady, Jill Biden, are touring across the country because large number of people nationwide do not trust the vaccine.

Regarding Biden´s agenda, the White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki announced Monday that he is not expected to be present at the Miami building that collapsed last week or at the 2020 Olympic Games.

According to Bloomberg, 54% of US people have so far received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 46.3% are fully immunized.
