Unpublished recordings were released on Monday in a report by the UOL news website, linking the ruler in the scheme of embezzlement of public capital arranged years ago by his descendant.

The conversations would implicate the president in the corruption network at the time he was a federal MP (from 1991 to 2018).

In the series of reports by journalist Juliana Dal Piva, from UOl, the audio of the former sister-in-law appears first, and the second one shows that an Army Colonel Guilherme dos Santos Hudson alongside former officer Fabricio Queiroz collected the salaries of officials.

Such statements indicate that the former military directly participated in the ‘rachadinha’ – embezzlement in English.

The case became known at the end of 2018 after the financial movement control agency (COAF) discovered millionaire atypical drafts from 2016 to 2017 in a bank account of Queiroz.

The prosecution seeks to clarify whether then-lawmaker Flavio Bolsonaro hired friends or family members as advisors, and then demanded they deposit part of their monthly allowance (rachadinha) into their accounts; that is to say, they embezzled lots of funds.

The senator testified in July 2020 to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Rio. According to authorities, the hearing’s content is top secret and under the strictest confidentiality.
