Tehran, May 16 (Prensa Latina) Iranian Health Minster Bahram Einollahi on Monday highlighted his country's relations with Cuba, and expressed confidence in improving ties between the two countries, the official site of the Iranian Presidency reported on Monday.

“Relations between Iran and Cuba are deep, they have a revolutionary history and a search for justice,” said Einollahi, who chairs the Intergovernmental Commission with Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas.

Establishing strategic relations between friendly countries is one of the policies of the Iranian Government, as highlighted by President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, Einollahi assured.

He explained that trade and economic relations between the two countries have not yet reached the level of political ties, which are at a high level.

We expect that with a new plan, we can develop cooperation in various economic, industrial and scientific fields and come to new understandings, he added.

Einollahi stressed that Iran and Cuba enjoy a very good history of joint cooperation in the production of the vaccine against the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition, he expressed his wish that this experience translates into a successful model for commercial and banking relations.

“Those who claim human rights have not forgiven children, with cowardly aggressions in the form of sanctions against Iran and Cuba, and these sanctions have multiplied the damage caused by Covid-19,” he said.

Einollahi was confident that the18th Session of the Joint Commission between Iran and Cuba will bring good results in the expansion of bilateral relations.

The Iranian Health minister, together with Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas, inaugurated a production plant for the PastoCorona vaccine on Sunday. It is a modern center for the serial production of the PastoCorona vaccine injection, the result of the transfer, to the Pateur Institute, of the technology of Cuba’s Soberana 02 vaccine, a scientific achievement by the Finlay Vaccines Institute.
