Belarus announces strengthening of joint forces with Russia

Minsk, Jan 6 (Prensa Latina) The Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported that the grouping of joint troops from Belarus and the Russian Federation is being strengthened in the context of guaranteeing the security of the State of the Union.

The Ministry also stressed that joint combat aviation training exercises with the participation of the Russian aerospace forces are being planned.

It also recalled that the decision to create the joint air force was made and is being implemented solely aimed at strengthening the security and defense of the State of the Union, based on the current situation near the borders of both nations.

It was previously reported that Russian and Belarusian military personnel are currently conducting combat coordination exercises at the Brestsky training grounds.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, in a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, said that the two forces are being prepared as a single army and coordinating the ways to repel any aggression.
