Havana promotes Cuban culture at FITCUBA2023

Havana, May 2 (Prensa Latina) Luis Ramiro Pino, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) in this capital, highlighted Tuesday Havana's attractions and explained the leading details of this city.

His presentation took place at San Carlos de La Cabaña fortress during the inauguration of the 41st Cuba’s International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2023, to be run until Friday, May 5.

The executive recalled that the city and six other villages globally won the title of Wonder City of the Modern World in 2016. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared its Historical Center and the fortification system a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1982.

Pino said the city, the venue of FITCuba 2023, is full of traditions and where cultural celebrities such as Cuban National Hero José Martí, Benny Moré, Bola de Nieve (Ignacio Villa), José Lezama Lima, and Alicia Alonso, among others, lived.

Havana is the destination of 50 percent of foreign visitors who spend their vacations in Cuba through over 50 airlines, the Hemingway Marina, and the Cruise Terminal.

The delegate informed that Havana has 80 hotels with 14,000 rooms, in addition to developing a non-state accommodation sector. The Inglaterra, Nacional de Cuba, and Riviera hotels are declared national monuments.

He mentioned that these values were enhanced after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959 and can be appreciated by those who visit this country.
