“A 16 year old girl dies during a shooting in Moca” is the title of a report published on the front page of Diario Libre, which states that Yasmín Germosen died last night in a health center, after being wounded when some individuals shot at the place where she was with other people. The incident took place in the sector Las Guazumas del Higüerito, in the province of Santiago, where, according to police sources, six persons are under investigation.

Similarly, Diario Libre published that this Sunday a citizen found the body of a teenager of Haitian nationality floating in the waters of the Yaque del Norte river, in the community of Pastor, in Nibaje.

Although there are different versions of the cause of death of Catiana Auguste, 15, the newspaper said that according to friends of the girl, alleged assailants arrived with guns and everyone had to run, but she was swept away by the current of the water.

Meanwhile, AlMomento reported that the day before an individual wanted by the authorities on charges of armed robbery died when he confronted a police patrol in the Buenos Aires sector of Herrera, Santo Domingo West.

Samuel Adames, 34, was surprised by the agents while he was assaulting a passerby, a fact perpetrated together with another man who managed to escape, informed the National Police in a press release.

This Sunday it was also learnt that the Collegiate Court of Montecristi sentenced a man to 30 years, accused, by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of that province, of causing the death of his mother from stab wounds; El Caribe newspaper said that the event occurred on 9 November 2017 and the Montecristi Prosecutor’s Office classified it as murder, which is why Aris Manuel Pimentel is being held in the Mao Correction and Rehabilitation Center in Valverde province.
