‘We mourned the death of the historic leader of the Communist Party of Chile Guillermo Teillier, anti-fascist struggler against Pinochet´s dictatorship and a strategist of the popular leftist forces of the region,’ Arce twetted.

Teiller, a Chilean professor, writer and politician, served as president of his country’s Communist Party from March 2005 to August 2023.

According to local media, Teiller passed away early Tuesday morning due to a complex health condition he had been suffering for years.
