Angola and Palestine to discuss bilateral cooperation

Luanda, Oct 9 (Prensa Latina) Angolan Foreign Minister Téte António on Monday welcomed Palestine Ambassador Jubrael George Bishara Shomali in order to debate on bilateral cooperation in various areas. At the meeting, both diplomats paid special attention to issues related to cooperation in health and construction, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

According to the statement, Ambassador George Bishara Shomali stated his country is willing to send surgeons to Angola to collaborate in ophthalmologic specialties, while praising the Angolan support in the struggle for the self-determination of the Palestinian people and considering that the diplomatic relations between both parties are “strong and strategic”. Angola´s Foreign Ministry announced on Monday that its Government is really concerned over the escalated conflict between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), and confirmed to evacuate six Angolan citizens from Tel-Aviv.
