Russian foreign minister predicts risks of global conflict

Serguei-Lavrov1
Moscow, Oct 10 (Prensa Latina) The risks of a global conflict increase, because the Western minority follows an aggressive line that has caused a serious crisis in international relations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on Tuesday.

In an article entitled “Compliance with the principles of the UN Charter in its entirety and interconnection is the key to international peace and stability” and published Tuesday on the Foreign Ministry’s website on Tuesday, speaks of the growing risks of a conflict on a planetary scale.

Lavrov explained that the orientation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)’s actions in the Asia-Pacific region towards the collapse of the regional architecture that is developing around the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) creates risks of the emergence of a new source of geopolitical tension.

At the same time, attempts are being made to expand the area of NATO’s responsibility to the entire Eastern Hemisphere under the cunning slogan of “the indivisibility of the security of the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific region,” the head of the Russian diplomacy added.

In order to achieve this, political-military alliances are created such as AUKUS, which is made up of Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, the “troika” of the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea, and the “four” of Tokyo-Seoul-Canberra-Wellington.

Furthermore, the direction of such efforts against Russia and China is not hidden, Lavrov stated, adding that the West pays special attention to expansion in the post-Soviet space, Lavrov added.

After the collapse of the USSR, the United States openly set out to seize Ukraine, quoting Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland’s words in late 2013 that Washington spent five billion dollars to educate obedient politicians in Kiev, he pointed out.

On Monday, Lavrov stated that there had been an unprecedented turn in the Palestine-Israel confrontation, which confirmed the unviability of the current status quo in the conflict zone.
