According to scientists from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the asteroid, named OS7 and discovered in 2008, will pass at a distance equivalent to more than seven times the space between the Earth and the Moon.
The rocky body which orbits the Sun and will pass close to the Earth at a speed of 18.17 kilometers per second. Its size of between 210 and 480 meters is comparable to the height of the famous Empire State Building in New York (381 meters) and the Eiffel Tower in Paris (300 m).
