Vietnam and New Zealand outline a route to upgrade ties

Hanoi, Mar 11 (Prensa Latina) Vietnam and New Zealand have outlined a route on Monday to take their strategic partnership to a new level and promote cooperation in all fields, national media reported.

The main guidelines were revealed in a joint press briefing offered by New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who concludes, this Monday, a two-day official visit to this nation.

The two Governments would work to stabilize and build political and strategic trust and political and diplomatic cooperation, thereby creating a more solid foundation for strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in all leading pillars of their strategic partnership.

Enhanced cooperation will include economy, trade, and investment; security and defense; agriculture and people-to-people exchanges.

The official talks between Luxon and Minh Chinh also aimed to promote scientific and technological cooperation, innovation, the development of the green and digital economy, the transfer of environmental friendly technologies, and the reduction of polluting emissions.

Agricultural development and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and semiconductor chips, the marine economy, labor cooperation, and professional training, are other areas in which the two countries intend to strengthen cooperation.

Minh Chinh’s visit to New Zealand ends a tour that began on March 5 and previously took him to Australia, where he also attended the Special Summit to mark the 50th anniversary of relations between New Zealand and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
