Mexico donates freeze-dried tissue for Dominicans burned at carnival

Santo Domingo, Mar 16 (Prensa Latina) The Government of Mexico donated freeze-dried human skin tissue to the Dominican Republic for use on children burnt during an explosion at the Salcedo carnival, authorities informed today.

The 3,600 square centimeters donated by Mexico will be used for the patients affected by severe burns and who remain in the Dr. Thelma Rosario Burn Unit.

The site of the Presidency indicated that this action will contribute to improving the condition of these infants, who are still in the intensive care unit of the above-mentioned area, located in the Dr. Arturo Grullón Regional Children’s Hospital, in Santiago de los Caballeros.

The donation was carried out through the Ministry of Public Health, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Health Service, the National Institute for the Coordination of Transplants, and the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Mexico.

The transfer of the tissues took place the day before, and they were delivered to the regional director of North Central Health, Manuel Lora, and other authorities of the center, according to the same source.
