Venezuela thanks Chilean civil society for its solidarity

Caracas, Apr 4 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela's Deputy Foreign Minister for Latin America, Rander Peña, thanked today the solidarity of various organizations, social movements, political parties and different academic, cultural and public life personalities in Chile.

Through the social platform X, the Foreign Ministry’s Vice Minister highlighted the communiqué released yesterday by this group of the Chilean civil society which ‘expresses its clarity before the events in Venezuela’ and its support to the Bolivarian people.

The solidarity text expressed that from the length and breadth of Chile ‘we join and fully accompany’ the call made by the National Electoral Council of the Bolivarian Republic to carry out this coming July 28 presidential elections, as established by the Constitution.

They stated that the presence of the different observation missions that will be present in these elections, such as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, the Carter Center, the Caribbean Community and others, will guarantee ‘free and fair’ elections.

They warned that a ‘minority and extremist sector’, which has historically desisted from the electoral process as a democratic mechanism to settle differences among Venezuelans, is once again seeking to ‘destabilize democracy in the country.

In view of the slim possibility of achieving their objectives, ‘they are trying to install a negative opinion matrix before the international community’, they stressed.

The Chilean organizations, social movements, political parties and personalities warned that in view of their slim possibilities through the popular democratic route, ‘they are focused on sabotaging any democratic process’ originating in the country.

They warned that this is why they ‘exclude themselves from the electoral process’, by not registering their candidate and starting a ‘false flag operation’ against democracy in the country.

They also reminded that there are 13 candidates registered, of which 12 are recognized figures of the political opposition, among them Manuel Rosales, Governor of the State of Zulia and main opposition leader to the Government headed by President Nicolás Maduro.

They underlined that this proves the existence of ‘all the electoral guarantees’ promoted by the governing body.
