During the day, the different coalitions must close the list of candidates for positions elected by the people.

The Vamos Chile (Let’s Go Chile) right-wing coalition, consisting of the National Renovation Party, the Independent Democratic Union, and Evópoli, will hold internal elections in at least 20 municipalities and two regions: Antofagasta and Coquimbo.

The center-left parties defined more than 100 individual candidates and waited for the municipalities to confirm where they would hold the primary elections.

This will be the first step toward the October 27 elections, in which Chilean citizens will elect governors, regional advisers, mayors, and councilors.
