Díaz-Canel began the tour in the Bolivia municipality, which focuses its economic activity on agriculture, especially rice production, the Presidency of the Republic informed on its X profile.
Accompanied by the secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Roberto Morales, the head of State visited the Bolivia municipal agroindustrial company, whose goal is to plant more than 2,000 hectares and harvest 5,771 tons of rice, so it could become the first municipality in the province to guarantees all the rice in the basic basket to its inhabitants.
Díaz-Canel also visited the rice mill and dryer of that center, a modern facility that contributes to optimizing the processing of the cereal.
In a meeting with local people in the Bolivia municipality, the president praised the performance of the municipal agro-industrial company, which will allow the territory to be self-sufficient in an important group of food items in the near future.
As part of his work agenda in the province, Díaz-Canel toured facilities and production centers in the municipalities of Primero de Enero and Venezuela.
In Primero de Enero, the president verified the construction status of the Motel Dos Palmas and the José Agustín Más Naranjo polyclinic, which serves more than 21,000 patients and reports zero infant mortality.
In Venezuela municipality, he met with members of two agricultural projects that focus on science and innovation.
He also met with dozens of residents in the El Millo community, a neighborhood in transformation, where the work of local residents and local institutions has improved living conditions.
