This was stated by the Minister of Information Technologies and Communications, Julian Molina, and the Minister of Science, Yesenia Olaya, who attended the legislative body for the presentation of the initiative.
According to Molina, one of the objectives of the proposal is to protect innovation, leverage economic development, as well as digital freedom, but with limits that regulate the protection of human beings.
Among the pillars of the law are the ethical and sustainable development of AI; its positive social, economic and environmental impact; the promotion of research in this technology; and the regulatory approach based on risks (prohibited, high, limited and low).
It also defines the key impact sectors: health, education, agriculture, tourism, security and justice, as reported.
The project addresses key issues such as governance for AI; strengthening science, technology and innovation ecosystem; training and social appropriation of AI knowledge; and promotion of innovation and labor transformation.
