A message on X from President Nayib Bukele indicated that the drug, cocaine, is valued at $25.6 million dollars.
The operation was carried out in waters 570 nautical miles (1,055 kilometers) southwest of the Bocana El Cordoncillo, in the Estero de Jaltepeque, the president said.
In the action, four Costa Rican drug traffickers were detained, who were on board the boat, and two pistols and six rifles were seized, according to the information.
With this action El Salvador reached 28,2 tons of narcotics seized in the last year with a value of 706,8 million US dollars.
