The National Civil Police informed that those arrested will be charged with breach of duty, refusal of assistance, extortion and embezzlement, as well as the five transporters arrested on Monday.

These businessmen are accused of taking the units out late, charging fares or not making the respective stops.

On Wednesday morning, images of the morning newscast of Telecorporación Salvadoreña de Noticias (TCS) showed vehicles with signs of the free service ordered by President Bukele until the end of the week, stops with little movement of passengers and a regular movement of vehicles.

The national free service from April 5 to 11 is due to the closure of the Panamerican highway, in the Los Chorros section, where repairs are being made after constant landslides.
