The diplomat emphasized to the press on Wednesday that “Russia strongly condemns terrorist acts, opposes any expression of terrorism and stresses on the need to unite the efforts of the entire international community to effectively combat this scourge.”

We urge the parties involved to exercise restraint in order to prevent further deterioration of the situation in the region, Zakharova said.

We hope that the existing disagreements between New Delhi and Islamabad will be resolved by peaceful, political and diplomatic means on a bilateral basis in accordance with the provisions of the 1972 Simla Agreement and the 1999 Lahore Declaration, the senior official added.
