The leftist formation denounced in a press release Washington’s possible plan to rule the coastal enclave, after the withdrawal of the Israeli Army.

The Palestinian party stated that if such an idea is confirmed, it would be “another form of colonialism and another occupation, which our people reject, whatever name it may bear.”

It warned, “Our people do not need anyone to enable them to manage their affairs and build their national State.”

The FDLP stressed that the Palestinians have the necessary awareness, understanding, political maturity, and institutional experience to build a national State.

Trump repeatedly advocated for displacing Palestinians from the Strip and occupying the territory on the grounds of rebuilding it, following extensive damage caused by the Israeli Army.
