ProBolsonaro congresswoman on trial for invading Justice in Brazil

Brasilia, May 9 (Prensa Latina) The first chamber of the Supreme Court of Brazil is judging from today deputy Carla Zambelli, follower of former President Jair Bolsonaro, on suspicion of invading the systems of the National Council of Justice (CNJ for its Portuguese acronym) and inserting false documents.

This telematic trial is also extended to hacker Walter Delgatti.

Zambelli and Delgatti became defendants in May 2024, after the first superior court chamber accepted the complaint filed by the Attorney General’s Office.

Both are charged with the crimes of computer hacking and ideological falsehood. According to the investigation, they are accused of inserting false documents in the CNJ system, including a prison order against minister Alexandre de Moraes, the rapporteur of this legal process.

According to the complaint, the parliamentarian had a “key role” in the criminal action and is pointed out as the “intellectual author” of the cyber-attack.

The investigation also refers that they are accused of inserting false documents in the CNJ system, including a prison order against De Moraes.

The Attorney General’s Office claims that Zambelli recruited Delgatti, promising her benefits in exchange for invading and manipulating data from the CNJ’s system.

For Attorney General Paulo Gonet, the objective was “to create an environment of demoralization of the Brazilian Justice, in order to obtain political advantage, proposing, from the beginning, the invasion of a computer device, and participating in the production of an ideologically false judicial order”.
