This group is suspected of being responsible for the attack in the Kashmir region last April, which triggered a new wave of hostilities between India and Pakistan.
An Indian delegation is already at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York, where it will collaborate with the UN Monitoring Team of the 1267 Sanctions Committee, as well as with other partner countries of the multilateral organization to request support, according to the Indian Express.
In addition, the team plans to meet with representatives of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOTC) and the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate, the newspaper added.
Indian authorities have repeatedly cited the April 25 UN Security Council statement, which emphasizes the importance of holding perpetrators of terrorist acts accountable.
Last week, India and Pakistan were engaged in a military standoff initiated by New Delhi in response to the April 22 attack in the town of Pahalgam, in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists.
