Ukraine has not yet notified the press of the composition of its team.
Last Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed that Ukraine resume direct negotiations without preconditions on the 15th in Istanbul. Turkey confirmed its readiness to host talks that would lead to a permanent solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced that he would personally travel to Turkey that day and challenged Putin to do the same, although he reiterated that he expected Russia to implement a full and unconditional ceasefire starting May 12.
The last round of direct talks between Moscow and Kyiv to achieve a cessation of hostilities took place in late March 2022 in the Turkish capital, Istanbul, and the countries have not resumed them since.
Moscow repeatedly declared its willingness to resume the negotiation process with Kyiv, but conditioned it on the cancellation of the Ukrainian decree approved in May 2022 prohibiting any peace talks.
