According to diplomatic sources, Cuba has a promotional stand at this event, one of the most important of its kind in Asia.
The Tourism Counselor at the Cuban Embassy in China, Elizabeth Vela, highlighted the growing interest in Cuba’s participation, which is in line with the Chinese market’s greater awareness of Cuban tourism. She explained that this growth is the result of a more active promotional campaign by Cuba Única, featuring Chinese figures, and aimed at positioning Cuba as a unique and attractive destination.
The official told Prensa Latina that more and more young Chinese are showing curiosity to learn about Cuba’s culture, history, and heritage.
During the fair, the Cuban delegation met with representatives of Air China, expressing their willingness to expand cooperation in air connectivity. They also met with major travel agencies in southern China linked to Cuba, including GZL International Travel Service Ltd. and Guangdong China Travel Service Co. Ltd.
As part of their presence at the fair, an exhibition of typical products such as rum, honey, and coffee was organized on the Chinese e-commerce platform JD.com, within the Excelencias Cuba pavilion.
A presentation was also held highlighting the main tourist attractions and current facilities for Chinese citizens wishing to visit Cuba, including the current visa exemption policy.
The Cuban representative recalled that at the last edition of the Cuban International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2025), China was the guest of honor, a milestone that strengthened bilateral cooperation in this sector. She also noted that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the People’s Republic of China, which is an opportunity to strengthen bilateral ties in multiple areas, including tourism.
